The game of golf has always been a love of mine. I have often said “Find what your passion is; figure out a way to make a living at it and you will never work a day in your life.”

My name is Lavon Zehr and along with my wife, Shana we own Home Putting Solutions. For the past 14 years I have been a superintendant of an upscale public golf course. I started there just as the construction of the course began. I have learned over the years the complete aesthetics and maintenance of greens, fairways, sand bunkers, fescue, etc.

I have been responsible for fertilization, spraying, irrigation (including new installs) and drainage. My knowledge of turf and plant pathology serves me well when it comes to designing and installing greens for customers.

Over the past 10 years I have had the luxury of installing my own home greens. I have used some of the best products on the market for acquiring a beautiful bent grass and low-mow blue grass green and fairway/approach area. Home Putting Solutions offers a mixture of synthetic and real grass.

My goal is for other people to have the experience of a real golf course in their back yard without having to have the knowledge or expensive equipment to maintain it. Therefore, with Home Putting Solutions, our niche is incorporating a “real grass” surround and approach with a synthetic green which would allow the owner to mow these real areas with their home lawnmower and have a maintenance-free putting surface for months of enjoyment.

With the turf knowledge that I have I can work with existing turf and landscape or completely renovate to incorporate whatever your desires may be.

At our location in North-Central Indiana you can see a “real grass” green, fairway, approach and tee area as well as a mixture of “real grass” approach with a synthetic PAR1 turf putting green.
